Yes — you can read your purchased eBooks on other compatible eReaders and reading apps.
However, the files are protected by DRM and cannot be shared, copied, or used as unprotected EPUB files.
BookWalker uses LCP (Lightweight Content Protection), a modern and widely adopted DRM standard, to protect eBooks while still allowing flexible reading across devices.
・How it works
– After purchasing an eBook, you can download a small .lcpl file from your Library.
– The .lcpl file does not contain the full book. Instead, it contains the license needed to unlock the eBook.
– Open the .lcpl file in a LCP-compatible reading app or eReader.
– The app will verify your license, download the encrypted eBook data, and prompt you to enter your BookWalker password.
– Once verified, the eBook will open and you can start reading.
・Important notes
– The actual EPUB file is encrypted and cannot be opened, converted, or extracted as a normal EPUB.
– DRM removal is not permitted.
– Compatibility and supported features may vary depending on the device model, app version, and firmware.
・Supported devices and apps
LCP is supported by various third-party reading apps and devices.
Please check with your preferred app or device to confirm LCP compatibility before downloading.
・Why BookWalker uses LCP
