BookWalker Coins are the in-store currency used to purchase eBooks and audiobooks on BookWalker. Coins are the single, unified currency across the web store and in-app stores.

・Note for customers migrating from the old store
The previous Point system on the old store (global.bookwalker.jp) has been discontinued.

Existing user balances are carried over under the new Coin system.
Only the name and unit definition have changed (1 Point is now treated as 100 Coins).
The monetary value of your balance remains unchanged.

You do not need to take any action regarding your Coin balance.

However, account migration to the new store is required to access your Coin balance and previous purchases.

・Coin Value
1 Coin = 1 Cent (USD)

・Coin Types
1) Standard Coin (Purchased Coin)

Standard Coins are Coins you purchase.
They do not expire.

2) Limited-time Coin (Granted Coin)

・Coin usage and rounding

Coins are always handled as whole numbers and follow standard rounding rules:
– Decimal values of 0.5 or higher are rounded up
– Values below 0.5 are rounded down

Example:

・Using Coins on the web store
When making a purchase on the web store:
– Coins are applied automatically.
– Coins with the earliest expiration date are used first.
– If your balance is insufficient, the exact additional required amount will be purchased using your active payment method.

・Taxes
Taxes may apply when purchasing Coins, depending on your region.
Books purchased using Coins are not taxed again at redemption.
